Storytime

Everybody says "I could write a book." And sure, everybody could fill up a couple hundred pages. But with what? Probably just a record of personal events, not really a story. Would it ad up to a story in the end? The story of a life? Maybe, but more likely it would read like diary entries, a lot of little stories, rather than the big story -- the story of your life. We have to edit our lives to make them that story. Shaping our lives like an editor shapes the arc of a novel is the way to have that feeling of satisfaction one gets at the end of a good story. Be your life's editor.
